Highrise Building and Hotel, Chengdu, Szechuan, China, 2006-
1 2 3 4
A highrise building for office use, club facilities, restaurants and shops is to be constructed along the central north-south axis on the southern edge of the city center. An underground garage, a supermarket and a direct connection to the future underground will be located at the lower levels.

The vertical circulation is located at instances such that a flexible and small-scale rental of the office floors will be possible. Moreover, a central, covered entry is located at the center of the ground floor.

The design of the highrise building follows the prescribed configurational envelope and is thought as an exo-skeletal structure with an inwardly receeding envelope. In this manner, the relatively slim building configuration appears even thinner.
